How to hide TV wires and cords inside the wall?
If you've got a little time and a few basic household tools, then you can conceal the TV cords behind the wall by cutting a hole in the drywall and snaking your wires through. That's a great way for wire hiding in case you have drywall.
Tools You'll Need:- Utility knife
- Stud finder
- Recessed cord plates, can be purchase at a hardware store
- drill or Screwdriver
- Pencil
We need to create the cut behind the TV, this way the TV itself helps cover where the cords go inside the wall. Take a pencil and the template that comes with the cord plate, line it up to level behind the TV, and trace where you'll be performing your cuts.
In case you have an extendable TV mount, pull the TV forward so you can reach the wall, otherwise, remove the TV from the mount before proceeding. Use the stud finder to make sure there are no studs, plumbing, or electrical inside the wall wherever you plan to cut.
Using the utility knife, cut lines along with the template that you've sketched to create a hole in the drywall, first gently and then going deeper inside the drywall until you've cut all the way through.
Install the top cord plate into the wall. Install it by closing the screws with the screwdriver. The cord plate has plastic wings that will spread and secure the plate against the wall from inside as you tighten those screws.
Cut out the box on the bottom as you did at the top, but before placing the cord plate, feed the TV cables through and out the hole. Next, feed them through the cable plate, put the plate against the wall, and complete screwing it in.
Arrange TV Cables with Cable Clips
A really easy and non-invasive way to conceal cables is to run them along the back of your entertainment center. It's very simple to do with the help of self-adhesive cable clips, which you can place along the back of a TV stand or other furniture to keep your cables tucked away.
Hide TV Cables With an Over the Wall Cover
Another excellent approach to hide wires is to use an over-the-wall wire concealer. The wires are hidden beneath a plastic track, which can be attached to the wall either by an adhesive or wall anchors. Simply run the wire along the plastic track, close the plastic cover into place, and your cords are out of view.
To help blend in even further, you can paint the plastic track to match the color of your wall.
